Hello world!

Hello world!

Welcome, and thank you for being here.

I’m so glad you’ve taken a moment to visit my little corner of the internet. My name is Lisa, I’m 43, married, and a mom of two. Life has thrown me some curveballs — and maybe you can relate.

During my last pregnancy, I suffered a herniated disc that led to cauda equina syndrome, a serious spinal condition that required emergency surgery. Unfortunately, I was misdiagnosed at first, and by the time I had surgery (23 weeks pregnant)— a full week after symptoms started — permanent nerve damage had been caused that still affects me today.

Then came COVID.

In May 2020, I gave birth to my second child, who has some medical needs of their own. What followed was one of the hardest seasons of my life — postpartum depression and anxiety hit me like a tidal wave. I tried therapy, held off on medication, and pushed through… until I couldn’t anymore. I finally turned to Prozac in 2021 and began slowly pulling myself back up.

Through it all, my body changed. I gained a significant amount of weight and by 2024, I was over 230 pounds. That’s when I decided to begin treatment with a GLP-1 medication — a big step in my journey back to health.

Over these past few years, I lost myself. The things I once loved? I stopped doing them. Whether it was mom guilt, depression, or a deep loss of confidence — I felt disconnected from who I used to be.

But I’ve started the work to reconnect with myself — not just who I was, but who I want to become. This blog is part of that journey. My hope is to share my story honestly, in case someone else out there is feeling a little lost too. If that’s you — I want you to know you’re not alone.

I’ll also be sharing tools, tips, and things that have helped me along the way — in life, motherhood, mental health, wellness, and beyond.

Thanks for stopping by. You’re welcome here, just as you are.
